We are so happy to meet you

Playful Acro is a collaboration between Juan Borbon and Rebecca Gilbert. We are passionate about sharing our love of this practice with others.
Rebecca and Juan met in 2021 when Juan was traveling to San Francisco for work and popping into the San Francisco acro scene. Once Juan finally made the jump and moved to San Francisco from New Orleans in 2022, they started to collaborate about teaching acro together to the San Francisco community, and Playful Acro was born. Juan’s grounding presence mixed with Rebecca’s bright enthusiasm creates a balanced energy for every class.
As AcroYoga teachers, our approach is grounded in safety, accessibility, and fun. We believe that everyone can benefit from AcroYoga, regardless of their age, body type, or experience level. Acro is for EVERY-body!
Meet Juan
I am a certified Acrolove teacher who recently moved from New Orleans to San Francisco. Since I now call SF home, I am thrilled to share my passion for acro with a new community. I truly believe that acro has the power to transform both the body and mind, and I can't wait to help others discover its many benefits.
I first discovered acroyoga several years ago and was immediately drawn to the combination of strength, balance, and grace required to practice the art. As someone who also loves to problem solving and games, I was thrilled to discover that acro also requires a significant amount of mental focus, strategy and playfulness.
When I'm not practicing acroyoga or working as a robotics engineer, I love exploring the outdoors, and building things.

Meet Rebecca
I started practicing acroyoga in 2016 and found so much joy in the playfulness of the practice that I was hooked. Acroyoga has improved my strength, flexibility, confidence, and communication, but more than anything, it constantly makes me feel childlike wonder & amazement of what our bodies are capable of. From flying on someone's feet to supporting someone else in the air, acro taught me that we are so much stronger than we know.
In my classes, I aim to create a fun & playful environment where students feel comfortable challenging themselves to try something new. I received my teacher training certification through Lux's Seattle Acro training.
When my feet aren't in the air, you can find me climbing, dancing, or wandering in nature.
